آداب الجوار وحقوق الجار في ضوء القرآن والسنة | حسن الجوار

Etiquette towards neighbours in Islam (adab al-jiwar): rights of the neighbour (huquq al-jar), kindness to neighbours (husn al-jiwar), not harming neighbours, giving gifts to the nearest neighbour, sharing food with neighbours, and good neighbourliness from the Quran and authentic Sunnah.

4. Treat your neighbour with kindness and good conduct.

5. Do not harm or trouble your neighbour in any way.

6. Make your neighbour feel safe and secure.

7. Do good to your neighbour.

8. Do not look down on even the smallest thing when it comes to your neighbour.

9. When giving a gift, give priority to the nearest neighbour.

10. Share some of your food with your neighbour.

11. Do not leave your neighbour hungry.

12. Regard doing good to your neighbour as a virtue and a means of reward.

13. Do not unjustifiably prevent your neighbour from the lawful use of your house wall.

Fiqh clarification: This hadith is an important evidence for the rights of the neighbour and for not causing hardship in his lawful benefit. It should not be understood as an open permission for every kind of construction work or for causing harm to what another person owns. In practice, ownership, harm, and the relevant Shariah and legal rulings will be considered.
