114Surah An-Nas
“Mankind”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ ١ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٢ إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٣ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ٤ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ ٥ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ ٦
This surah teaches us to ask Allah for protection from bad whispers in our hearts, especially from Shaytan who tries to make us think bad thoughts.
💫 Fun fact: It is the very last surah in the Qur'an!
113Surah Al-Falaq
“The Daybreak”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ ١ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ٢ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ٣ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ ٤ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ٥
We ask Allah to protect us from anything harmful in the world – the darkness of night, and even people who wish us harm.
💫 Fun fact: Along with An-Nas, this surah is called one of the "Mu'awwidhatayn" – the Two Surahs of Refuge.
112Surah Al-Ikhlas
“Sincerity”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ١ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ ٢ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ٣ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ ٤
This short surah explains that Allah is One, He was not born and does not give birth, and nothing is comparable to Him.
💫 Fun fact: The Prophet (SAW) said reciting it once is like reciting a third of the whole Qur'an!
111Surah Al-Masad
“The Palm Fiber”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ١ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ ٢ سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ٣ وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ ٤ فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ ٥
This surah talks about a man named Abu Lahab who was very unkind to the Prophet (SAW), and how his actions did not help him.
💫 Fun fact: It shows that no amount of wealth can help someone who opposes the truth.
110Surah An-Nasr
“The Help”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا جَآءَ نَصْرُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْفَتْحُ ١ وَرَأَيْتَ ٱلنَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِى دِينِ ٱللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا ٢ فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ تَوَّابًۢا ٣
This surah tells us that when Allah's help and victory come, we should praise Allah and ask for His forgiveness.
💫 Fun fact: This was one of the last full surahs revealed to the Prophet (SAW).
109Surah Al-Kafirun
“The Disbelievers”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ ١ لَآ أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ ٢ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ عَـٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعْبُدُ ٣ وَلَآ أَنَا۠ عَابِدٌ مَّا عَبَدتُّمْ ٤ وَلَآ أَنتُمْ عَـٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعْبُدُ ٥ لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِىَ دِينِ ٦
This surah teaches that Muslims worship Allah alone, and we do not worship what others worship – everyone has their own beliefs.
💫 Fun fact: The phrase "For you is your religion, and for me is my religion" comes from this surah.
108Surah Al-Kawthar
“Abundance”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَـٰكَ ٱلْكَوْثَرَ ١ فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ ٢ إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلْأَبْتَرُ ٣
Allah gave the Prophet (SAW) a river in Paradise called Al-Kawthar, and tells him to pray and sacrifice only for Allah.
💫 Fun fact: It is the shortest surah in the entire Qur'an – just three ayahs!
107Surah Al-Ma'un
“Small Kindnesses”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ ١ فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ٢ وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ٣ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ ٤ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ ٥ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ ٦ وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ ٧
This surah warns us about people who pray but don't care for orphans or the poor, and don't even help others with small things.
💫 Fun fact: It teaches that true worship must come with real kindness to others.
106Surah Quraysh
“The Tribe of Quraysh”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
لِإِيلَـٰفِ قُرَيْشٍ ١ إِۦلَـٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ ٢ فَلْيَعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ ٣ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍۭ ٤
This surah reminds the Quraysh tribe to thank Allah for keeping their trading journeys safe and for feeding them.
💫 Fun fact: It connects closely with the surah before it, Al-Fil, about the Year of the Elephant.
105Surah Al-Fil
“The Elephant”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ ١ أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ ٢ وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ ٣ تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ ٤ فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍۭ ٥
This surah tells the story of Abraha, who brought elephants to destroy the Ka'bah, and how Allah sent birds with stones to protect it.
💫 Fun fact: This event happened in the same year Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born!
104Surah Al-Humazah
“The Slanderer”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ ١ ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ ٢ يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ ٣ كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ ٤ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ ٥ نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ ٦ ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ ٧ إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ ٨ فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ ٩
This surah warns us not to make fun of people or talk badly about them behind their backs, and not to love collecting wealth too much.
💫 Fun fact: Allah is the One who sees every deed, so we should always speak kindly!
103Surah Al-Asr
“Time”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلْعَصْرِ ١ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ٢ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ٣
Time is precious! This surah teaches that people are at a loss, except those who believe, do good deeds, and remind each other to be truthful and patient.
💫 Fun fact: It has only 3 ayat, yet it is a complete lesson for life.
102Surah At-Takathur
“Competing for More”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَلْهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ١ حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ ٱلْمَقَابِرَ ٢ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٣ ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ٤ كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٥ لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ ٦ ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ ٱلْيَقِينِ ٧ ثُمَّ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨
This surah reminds us that always wanting more and more can make us forget Allah and the Day we will return to Him.
💫 Fun fact: We should be thankful for what we have, not busy chasing more.
101Surah Al-Qari'ah
“The Striking Calamity”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ١ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ٢ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ٣ يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ ٤ وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ ٥ فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ٦ فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ٧ وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ٨ فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ ٩ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ١٠ نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ ١١
This surah describes the Day of Judgment, when people's good and bad deeds will be weighed on the scale.
💫 Fun fact: Good deeds make the scale heavy, so keep doing them!
100Surah Al-Adiyat
“The Racing Horses”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلْعَـٰدِيَـٰتِ ضَبْحًا ١ فَٱلْمُورِيَـٰتِ قَدْحًا ٢ فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًا ٣ فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا ٤ فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا ٥ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ ٦ وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ ٧ وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ٨ ۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ ٩ وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ ١٠ إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ ١١
Allah swears by racing horses and then reminds us that people can be ungrateful, so we should always thank Him for His blessings.
💫 Fun fact: Allah takes an oath by galloping horses in this surah.
99Surah Az-Zalzalah
“The Earthquake”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ١ وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ٢ وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا ٣ يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ٤ بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ٥ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ٦ فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ ٧ وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ ٨
On the Day of Judgment the earth will shake and tell everything that happened on it. Every tiny good or bad deed will be seen.
💫 Fun fact: Even a good deed as small as an atom will not be lost!
98Surah Al-Bayyinah
“The Clear Proof”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ ١ رَسُولٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ يَتْلُوا۟ صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً ٢ فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ٣ وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ ٤ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ حُنَفَآءَ وَيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ ٥ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ ٦ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ ٧ جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۖ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ رَبَّهُۥ ٨
This surah teaches that people were told to worship Allah sincerely, pray, and give zakat, and that those who believe and do good are the best of creation.
💫 Fun fact: The Prophet (SAW) is called the clear proof sent by Allah.
97Surah Al-Qadr
“The Night of Decree”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ ١ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ ٢ لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ ٣ تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ ٤ سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ ٥
The Qur'an was first sent down on the Night of Qadr, a night better than a thousand months.
💫 Fun fact: Look for this special night in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
96Surah Al-Alaq
“The Clot”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ١ خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ ٢ ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ ٣ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ ٤ عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ٥ كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ ٦ أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ ٧ إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ ٨ أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ ٩ عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ ١٠ أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ١١ أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ ١٢ أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ١٣ أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ ١٤ كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ ١٥ نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ١٦ فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ ١٧ سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ ١٨ كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩ ١٩
The first ayat of the Qur'an to be revealed are from this surah. It begins with the command: "Read!" and tells us how important learning is.
💫 Fun fact: Angel Jibreel (AS) brought these ayat to the Prophet (SAW) in the Cave of Hira.
95Surah At-Tin
“The Fig”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلتِّينِ وَٱلزَّيْتُونِ ١ وَطُورِ سِينِينَ ٢ وَهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ ٱلْأَمِينِ ٣ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ ٤ ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَـٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَـٰفِلِينَ ٥ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ ٦ فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ ٧ أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ ٨
Allah created human beings in the best form. Those who believe and do good deeds will receive a reward that never ends.
💫 Fun fact: Allah swears by the fig, the olive, Mount Sinai, and the safe city of Makkah.
94Surah Ash-Sharh
“The Relief”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ١ وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ٢ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ٣ وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ٤ فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٥ إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ٦ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ٧ وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ٨
This surah comforts us: after every difficulty Allah brings ease. It also reminds us of the blessings Allah gave the Prophet (SAW).
💫 Fun fact: Allah says that with hardship comes ease, and repeats it twice!
93Surah Ad-Duha
“The Morning Light”
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ١ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ٢ مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ٣ وَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ٤ وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ ٥ أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ٦ وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّا فَهَدَىٰ ٧ وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ ٨ فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ٩ وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ١٠ وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ١١
Allah comforts the Prophet (SAW) by telling him He never left him. It also teaches us to be kind to orphans and not turn away someone who asks for help.
💫 Fun fact: The surah begins by swearing by the bright morning.
