Shaving the Pubic Hair

حلق العانة

The prescribed area for removing pubic hair is as follows: When a person sits in a squatting position, the hair should be removed starting slightly below the navel, from the area where the abdomen forms a fold, extending down to the roots of the thighs. Hair should also be removed around the areas of urination and defecation, as far as there is a possibility that impurity may come into contact with it. Some jurists, based on the following statement from Fatawa al-Hindiyyah, state that the removal should begin immediately below the navel.

It is recommended to remove unnecessary body hair once every week. If this is not possible, it may be done every fifteen days. It is not permissible to leave it for more than forty days.
