Praying in an open space when possible
The Prophet (SAW) would go out to an open prayer ground (musalla) outside the town to perform the Eid prayer, rather than praying inside the mosque.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RA)
Explanation
Praying in the open reflects the communal, public nature of the Eid celebration.
