Holding a wedding feast (Walimah)

The Prophet (SAW) told Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf upon his marriage: "Hold a walimah, even if with [just] one sheep."

Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, on the authority of Anas ibn Malik (RA)

Explanation

A walimah, however modest, is encouraged to mark and celebrate the occasion.
