Not presuming to speak for Allah

A man once said, "By Allah, Allah will not forgive so-and-so." Allah responded: "Who is it that swears that I will not forgive so-and-so? I have forgiven him and rendered your deeds worthless."

Reference: Sahih Muslim, on the authority of Jundub ibn Abdullah (RA)

Explanation

This warns against arrogantly limiting Allah's mercy or presuming certainty about matters only Allah decides.
