Entering with the left foot
General Islamic practice, consistent with the Prophet's preference for the right side in good matters, reserves the left foot for entering the place of impurity.
Reference: Derived from the general principle described in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, on the authority of A'ishah (RA)
Explanation
This mirrors the broader Sunnah of using the left for what is unclean and the right for what is pure and honored.
