π Good Manners for Muslim Kids
Being a good Muslim means having good manners too! Here are 35 simple habits that make you kind, respectful, and loved by everyone - and by Allah too.
Say Salam First
Be the first to say "Assalamu Alaikum" when you meet someone - it makes both of you smile and starts your meeting with peace!
Shake Hands Warmly
When you greet a friend or relative, a warm handshake or hug shows love - the Prophet (SAW) taught us this brings hearts together.
Say Bismillah Before Eating
Always say "Bismillah" before your first bite - it invites Allah's blessing into your meal!
Eat with Your Right Hand
Use your right hand for eating and drinking, just like the Prophet (SAW) taught us.
Never Waste Food
Take only what you can finish, and if a little bit falls, pick it up and eat it rather than throwing it away.
Ask Before Entering a Room
Always knock and ask permission before entering someone's room - even your parents' room!
Listen Without Interrupting
When someone is speaking - especially an elder or teacher - wait patiently for your turn to talk.
Sleep on Your Right Side
Try to sleep lying on your right side, just like the Prophet (SAW) used to do, and say your bedtime dua.
Keep Your Space Tidy
A clean room and clean clothes are part of being a good Muslim - cleanliness is half of faith!
Say Alhamdulillah After Sneezing
When you sneeze, say "Alhamdulillah" - and if someone else sneezes and says it, reply with "YarhamukAllah"!
Obey and Respect Your Parents
Your parents worked so hard to raise you - listening to them and speaking gently is one of the best deeds in Islam.
Share with Your Siblings and Friends
Sharing your toys, snacks, and time with others makes Allah happy and makes you a true friend.
Smile and Be Cheerful
A smile is charity! Greet people with a happy face, even on days you don't feel like it.
Walk Humbly, Not Proudly
Walk at a normal pace without showing off - true confidence doesn't need to boast.
Never Tell Lies
Always tell the truth, even when it's hard - Allah loves those who are honest.
Be Kind to Animals
Feed a hungry cat, give water to a thirsty bird - kindness to animals is loved by Allah.
Say Salam When Leaving Too
Just like you greet with salam when you arrive, say it again when you leave - both are equally important!
Cover Your Mouth When Yawning
Yawns happen to everyone, but always cover your mouth politely with your hand.
Say Alhamdulillah When You Sneeze
And if someone nearby says it after sneezing, reply "YarhamukAllah" to make their day brighter.
Take Off Your Shoes Before Entering the Prayer Area
Keep the musalla or masjid clean by removing your shoes before stepping onto the prayer mat.
Handle the Qur'an with Respect
Keep the Qur'an in a clean, high place, wash your hands before touching it, and never place anything on top of it.
Walk on the Right Side
Whether walking or riding, keeping to the right helps everyone move safely and shows consideration for others.
Do Not Interrupt Elders
Wait patiently for your turn to speak, especially when adults or teachers are talking.
Do Not Whisper Secrets in Front of Others
If two of you whisper while a third friend is present, it can make them feel left out - talk where everyone can hear, or wait until you're alone.
Never Point or Laugh at Someone's Mistake
If a friend trips or makes an error, help them up or stay quiet instead of laughing.
Make Dua for Your Parents Daily
Ask Allah to bless your mother and father, just as they cared for you when you were small.
Say Thank You for Gifts
Whenever someone gives you something, however small, thank them warmly - it makes their kindness feel valued.
Ask Before Using Someone Else's Things
Whether it's a sibling's toy or a parent's phone, always ask permission first.
Say Bismillah Before Starting Anything Good
Starting your homework, a game, or a chore with "Bismillah" brings blessing into what you do.
Put Your Shoes and Belongings in Order
Line up your shoes neatly and keep your school bag organized - tidiness reflects a tidy heart too.
Cover Your Mouth When Coughing
Turn away and cover your mouth with your elbow or a tissue to keep germs from spreading.
Do Not Talk with Food in Your Mouth
Finish chewing and swallow before speaking - it's both polite and safer!
Say Your Bedtime Duas Every Night
End your day the way the Prophet (SAW) did, with dhikr and dua before you drift off to sleep.
Give Way to Elders and Those Carrying Things
If someone older or carrying something heavy is walking behind you, make space for them to pass.
Do Not Waste Water, Even During Wudu
The Prophet (SAW) taught us not to waste water, even if we were performing wudu next to a flowing river.
